How to study this programme:

The Small Business Financial Management qualification is broken down into 3 subjects, which are entered and examined individually by the ICB.

The Institute of Business ManagementIBM is your training provider while the ICB (Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) is the examining body. You first have to enroll with the Institute of Business Management – IBM, select an exam date and enter an exam for each module. The ICB will then send you your PoE (Portfolio of Evidence) with all the tests and assignments.  Your study material will be couriered to you included in the course fee. For the National Certificate Small Business Financial Management you receive 3 learner guides and 3 PoE’s and you enter and write 3 exams.

This PoE includes 3 assignments and 2 tests that you complete during your study phase. Each PoE is submitted and assessed together with a final exam.

Once you have passed all subjects in a qualification, the qualification is awarded by the ICB and FASSET.

Course content:

Subjects are the particular fields of study that are covered in a course. The subjects below make up this course and will need to be completed in order for you to complete this course.

   1. Business Management

Cost and price products and manage working capital. Operate a personal computer.

   2. Bookkeeping to Trail Balance

Demonstrate an understanding of the documentation, processing and recording of a business’s financial transactions.

   3. Business Literacy

Communicate effectively with the business stakeholders. Show that you know what it means to be a general manager.
