Disasters can not be prevented, but can and must be managed. Disaster management plays a vital role in society as they cause death, damage, destruction and desperation.
This short course will enable people in a Disaster Risk environment to conduct basic disaster risk assessment, and to implement disaster risk principles in response, recovery, relief and rehabilitation.
Who must do this Qualification
Managers or team leaders of business units concerned with Disaster Risk Management.
- Open to all, no admission requirements but it is assumed that a learner is competent in:
- Communication at NQF Level 3, or equivalent.
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 3, or equivalent.
